What R20 means
The account exists but is not eligible for ACH activity — a savings account with transaction limits already reached, an escrow or trust account, or another account class the bank restricts.
What to do next
Ask the recipient for an account that accepts ACH credits, then prenote it before the next live run.
Can this happen on a file from this generator?
Yes. R20 can come back on a credit file, so it is worth guarding against. Verify account details with a zero-dollar prenote before the first live payment, and check the file's structure with the ACH file validator before you upload it to your bank.
